Vintage Wheat Sack ( Tacheh) from the Bakhtiari Nomads of Iran
Rare, Vintage Tacheh from the agricultural area of Chahar Mahal, in Iran. These old sacks are used to store wheat, barley and flour in the granaries. Nowadays they have been mostly discarded and replaced with modern plastic containers. Original Tacheh are strongly made, and woven to be used, and accordingly, they are no longer commonplace items. Stunning , top quality , hand spun local wool and coloured with natural dyes. Completely functional in construction , but still created with a passion that reflects the mighty Bakhtiari Tribal traditions. This sack has been cut and opened up, to make a fabulous piece of wall art, or a warm bedside rug. The choice is yours.
