Vintage 1950's Hand woven Kilim from Konya in Turkey

Stunning, Vintage 1950's,  Eregli Kilim, from Konya, Turkey.

This is a genuine beauty and is woven from 100% local wool and dyed naturally, using mostly plant roots.

Woven over the seasons of the year, in two separate parts on a narrow loom.

When finished, the two 'wings' are then expertly sewn together in the traditional way to make, one large, unique piece. 

These original kilims, from rural Turkey, are becoming increasingly harder to source and this lovely example, is typical of the Konya area.

A real eye-catching, traditional Tribal design.
