Superb, Mid 20th Century (1950's) Anamur Kilim, from the Yoruk Tribe. A vintage kilim from the Mut region of the Taurus Mountains, woven by the Taurus Yoruk who migrated from Central Asia. Woven in earthy burgundy tones with a field consisting of classic Mut medallions, tightly arranged in a balanced composition. A collectable kilim that is sure to brighten up and lift the mood, of any room. This is a gorgeous example of the semi-nomadic Anatolian weaver's art. Such unique pieces are now becoming, increasingly hard to find. The lush colours are soft and mellow having been 'Sun Washed' in the traditional Anatolian way. This natural method of softening and ageing the colours leaves us with a unique finished piece, that fits perfectly, into a Country House setting or a modern contemporary lounge.
